2025 African American Preaching Conference: Black Preaching at the Intersection of the Academy

The Kyle Lake Center for Effective Preaching at Baylor University's Truett Seminary is honored to announce the 2025 African American Preaching Conference, to be held from September 23-25, 2025, in Waco, Texas. This distinguished annual gathering explores the profound intersection of Black preaching, the academy, and ministry. The theme of this year’s conference, “Resilient Preaching in Uncertain Times,” considers contemporary events and their impact on preaching African American congregations. Under the guidance of a steering committee of 25 prominent African American church leaders, the conference will feature a lineup of nationally recognized preachers with plenary sessions and workshops, that draw upon the rich academic and theological expertise of Baylor University and Truett Seminary. This transformative event will occur at the crossroads of scholarship, ministry, and culture. Join us for an experience that will leave a lasting impact on your journey in preaching and faith.
