Instrument Rating Flight Course Bundle - New Students
The Instrument Rating is considered a transitional course as student pilots begin to move from paper to electronic aeronautical sectional charts. Students are expected to have the most current version of the paper sectional chart in addition to the electronic chart they can access through ForeFlight.
This bundle is optional for incoming Aviation Sciences students registered in or registering for AVS 1332 – Instrument Rating Flight course in the fall semester. It contains all materials required for the course including one set of current and two sets of future cycles of each of the aeronautical sectional charts needed for the semester – the future sets will be delivered to your ground school class when they arrive.
*There is a potential that a cross-country flight may be outside of the coverage area provided in the set, and you will need to purchase a single chart for that area from UFC.
Excluded from this bundle are any items you would have acquired when beginning your flight training as a private pilot. There are additional required purchases of uniform shirts, pants and/or shorts, and the Gyronimo Flight App, which is available via a discount link and instructions provided by UFC/Baylor Flight Center.
If you do not purchase this bundle, you may purchase additional uniform polo shirts (you get one free), and the Sectional Chart Bundle – Instrument Students on the Baylor Marketplace, and acquire the remaining materials contained in this bundle outside of the Baylor Marketplace. Please crosscheck these items to your course syllabus in Canvas.
